אנשופך בנייה
ופי קלבי מא ענדי חילה
נוצרף באלאלף ולמיאה
לא חשאב ולא כילה לְלֹא
ומקאמך עאלי יחלאלי
אלדימא פי באלי אִג'הלי
נדפע לכמאלי באלמליח
אלדימה תווקפני ותחדאני
יא סייד רבי שמעון בר יוחאי

I seek you with sincere intent,
and in my heart I have no strength.
We spend by the thousands and the hundreds,
with no reckoning and no measure at all.
Your exalted station is sacred to me,
you are always in my mind — forgive my ignorance.
We repay perfection with what is good,
yet the Everlasting halts me and challenges me.
O master, Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai,
the precious one.
שהי נשכן מעא לחברייא
בר יוחאי יעג' עלייא
May I dwell with the fellowship;
Bar Yochai, you are dear to me.
מז'מועין דיירין פי צחרה
יקראו זוהר עלא דוו אלגמרא
יתקוותו מן דיך אלשזרה
נזרי מן גיר יומייה
ולמערה לדימא מנוורה
בסודות תע אתורה
A fellowship dwelling in the rock,
reading the Zohar by the light of the Gemara,
nourished from that Tree;
our crown is not from other days,
and the cave is forever illuminated
by the secrets of the Torah.
שהי... חֶפְצִי…
May it be... my desire…
מנו יינדר דיך אצורה
נאר תלהב חמרה וקווייה
לאז'ם עלייה נמשילו
פי ביתו נשעאל קנדילו
בר יוחאי לם תימא מתלו
זכותהו תוקף לינא כולייא
Who will vow before that Form—
a fire blazing, red and strong?
We must emulate him;
in his house we will light the lamp.
Bar Yochai, there is none like you;
his merit empowers us all.
