At the treetop, on a swaying branch,
a tired bird is looking for a bit of shade.
Above her, birds of prey are gliding,
she longs for the nightingale's song.
On a branch beside her, the turtledove coos,
and, like an arrow of longing, it will make her beak tremble,
as back then, when she bound her soul to his,
to the pure song of the nightingale.
Tomorrow we'll fly far — suddenly a gate will open,
we'll uncover what we knew: from where and why we came.
She crossed continents and in the end she returned,
and he waits for her as if nothing had happened.
The wind blew and caressed her back,
and the nightingale's song was in her heart.
