Once there was a kind-hearted guy but a bit of a fool,
one who had already racked up many hours of suffering,
until one day he met luck,
which hurled him to a land out in space,
yeah, cry, put on a calf-like face,
who always goes the opposite way — such a fool.
In the middle of the field the fool suddenly saw
three chairs, each chair with a flag,
a chair for guests, a chair for officers,
and a soft armchair for kings.
On the guests’ chair the fool sat,
with no joy, so tired, feeling in mourning.
He had just sat down, hadn’t had time to settle in,
the servants poured a barrel of wine for the guest.
He ate from the pot, drank like a pig,
and felt strong like a young bull.
After the moron drank another cup,
the fool moved over to the officer’s chair.
On this chair he suddenly felt power,
a man with balls but without a brain.
He mobilized the nation and broadcast the slogan,
the idiot declared war.
His army cleared the way for him
to move over and sit on the king’s chair.
On the king’s chair he banged his feet,
in the joy of rule he screamed to the skies:
“Be knights, be comrades,
one word from me and you’re finished.”
Even God was tied with a rope —
he kept them really on a short leash, the fool.
But the fool is a kind-hearted man, so it seemed right to him
to share with the people everything he had.
Then the chair swayed like a hammock,
the fool fainted and fell.
He woke up in a heap of straw and trash,
in the clothes he was born in — naked and a fool.
