Who will grant me to be a servant of God, my Maker,
and let every beloved be far from me, while He draws me near.
My Creator and Shepherd of my soul, and a nation You have acquired;
You have discerned my intent and have seen my thoughts;
my path and my lying down, and all my ways You have sifted.
If You help me, who is there that can make me stumble?
Or if You restrain me, who but You can release me?
My inward parts surge to be near You;
yet my sorrows keep them far from You;
my paths turn aside from the track of Your ways.
Yah, teach me in Your truth, guide me;
and gently lead me in justice, and do not condemn me.
But I, in ease, grow lax in doing Your will;
and even in old age—what is it that I hope and expect?
Please, heal, please, for with You is the healing God.
On the day when old age enfeebles me and my strength deserts me,
do not forsake me, my Rock, and do not abandon me.
Crushed and wretched I sit, and I tremble at my moments;
naked and despoiled I walk in the cords of my delusions;
and I am wounded by the multitude of my sins and transgressions.
Between You and me is iniquity that separates me,
and it darkens my eyes from seeing Your light.
Incline my heart to serve the service of Your kingship;
and purify my thought to know Your divinity;
and at the time of my pain, please do not delay Your healing.
My God, answer me; do not be silent—answer me;
acquire me anew and say to Your servant, “Here I am.”
