שיר המעלות בשוב ה' את שיבת ציון היינו כחולמים אז ימלא שחוק פינו ולשוננו רינה אז יאמרו בגויים הגדיל ה' לעשות עם אלה הגדיל ה' לעשות עמנו היינו שמחים. שובה ה' את שביתנו כאפיקים בנגב הזורעים בדימעה ברינה יקצורו הלוך ילך ובכה נושא משך הזרע בא יבא ברינה נושא אלומותיו

A Song of Ascents. When the LORD brought back the return of Zion, we were like dreamers. Then our mouth was filled with laughter and our tongue with shouts of joy; then it was said among the nations: “The LORD has done great things for them.” The LORD has done great things for us, and we rejoiced. Restore our fortunes, O LORD, like streams in the Negev. Those who sow in tears shall reap with joy. He who goes on his way weeping, carrying the bag of seed, will surely come with rejoicing, carrying his sheaves.
