הבט נא השמימה וספור הכוכבים אם תוכל לספור אותם כה יהיה זרעך

Look now toward heaven and count the stars, if you are able to count them; so shall your offspring be.

כחול אשר על שפת הים כי ברך אברכך והרבה ארבה את זרעך

like the sand that is on the seashore; for I will surely bless you, and I will greatly multiply your offspring.

אם תוכל לספור אותם

if you can count them.

הארץ אשר אתה עליה לך אתננה ולזרעך ופרצת ימה וקדמה צפונה ונגבה

The land on which you are lying, to you I will give it and to your offspring; and you shall spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south.

אם תוכל לספור אותם כה יהיה זרעך

If you can count them, so shall your offspring be.
