יגדל אלוהים חי וישתבח
נמצא ואין עת אל מציאותו
Exalted and praised be the living God;
He exists, and time does not apply to His existence.
אחד ואין כיחודו
נעלם וגם אין סוף לאחדותו
He is One, and none is like His unity;
He is concealed, and there is no end to His oneness.
אין לו דמות הגוף ואינו גוף
לא נערוך אליו קדושתו
He has no semblance of a body, and He is not a body;
His holiness is beyond comparison.
קדמון לכל דבר אשר ניברא
ראשון ואין ראשית לראשיתו
Preexistent before everything that was created;
He is first, and there is no beginning to His primacy.
הינו אדון עולם לכל נוצר
יורה גדולתו ומלכותו
He is the Master of the universe over all that is formed;
He reveals His greatness and His kingship.
לא קם בישראל כמשה עוד
נביא ומביט את תמונתו
In Israel no one like Moses arose again—
a prophet who beheld His image.
גומל לאיש חסיד כמפעלו
נותן לרשע רע כרשעתו
He rewards the pious man according to his deed;
He gives the wicked evil according to his wickedness.
מתים יחיה ברוב חסדו
ברוך עדי עד שם תהילתו
He will revive the dead in the abundance of His mercy;
blessed forever is the name of His praise.
