אז אמר האחר הנצור הזה איך אוכל לו איך אוכל לו איתו האומץ וכשרון המעשה וכלי מלחמה ותושיה ועצה לו ואמר: לא אטול את כוחו ולא רסן אשים ולא מתג ולא מורך אביא בתוכו ולא ידיו ארפה כמיקדם רק זאת אעשה: אכהה את מוחו ושכח שאיתו הצדק

Then said the other: This besieged one—how can I overcome him? How can I overcome him? With him are courage and skill in action, and he has weapons of war, resourcefulness, and counsel. And he said: I will not take away his strength, nor will I put a bridle or a bit on him, nor will I bring fear into him, nor will I weaken his hands as before. Only this will I do: I will dull his mind, and he will forget that justice is with him.
