[בית] ואלה היו ימי השקר ולילות הכזב וכל מה שיגורתי מפניו בא וכל מה שבא יגורתי מפניו והייתי כאיש אחר שחי את חייו והייתי כגדם עץ או כנחל שסטה מערוציו ולא פגעה הסופה ולא עלה הים על גדותיו לעיתים מחריב אדם את ביתו במו ידיו

[Verse] And these were the days of falsehood and the nights of deceit And all that I dreaded came And whatever came, I dreaded And I was like another man, living his life And I was like a tree stump or like a stream that had strayed from its channels And the storm did not strike, and the sea did not rise above its banks Sometimes a man destroys his house with his own hands
