סעי יונה ושמעיני בכנור נגני

Go, dove, and listen to me; play for me on the lyre,
and break forth in song, rejoice; ponder the song,
and hurry, and do not turn toward the path of my oppressors.
קחי צידה ונסעה
ונתעדן ונשבעה
ונשתה מעינות דעה
Take provisions and let us set out,
and we shall delight and be satisfied,
and drink from the springs of knowledge.
ונשירה עלי נבל. וזמר תתני
עמודי מהרי יונה. והתקיני כלי
ונכנס לתוך גנה. בתמר תעלי
ונאחזה בסנסניו. ופריו תאכלי
And we shall sing to the harp, and you will give song;
stand, hurry, dove, and prepare the instrument;
and we will enter the garden; you will ascend the date-palm;
and we will grasp its clusters, and you will eat its fruit.
ומהרי עדי עדייך
תני תורים עלי לחייך
וינאה בם כליל יפייך
תני נזמך עלי אפך, ועגיל תתני
And hurry—array your adornments;
place necklaces upon your cheeks,
and with them the garland of your beauty will be lovely;
place your nose-ring upon your nose, and put on an earring.
