He hid himself from the eyes of the crowd and, in general, from any pair of eyes

He was afraid of himself, and thought to himself that everyone was afraid of him. There was always some weakness in him, but the need to reach its meaning would turn into a hard answer: it's there, and suddenly it's gone.

He had no brother or even a friend, actually, except for the moon.

הוא היה בודד, ודי חיוור רק יוצא ומיד בורח

He was lonely, and quite pale; he'd step out and immediately run away.

The moon, by contrast, was scrupulous: evening after evening it showed up and appeared, and everyone said, "He's simply a hit; this moon will yet surprise."

And so they lived, the man and the moon, each in his own way. The moon comes out, the man runs away, the moon sings, the man screams, the bond between the man and the moon kept growing and developing.

וביום אחד, גשום ואפור הירח איבד את הקול לא יכול להופיע, מוכרח לעצור לשכב ולשתות אקמול

And one day, rainy and gray, the moon lost its voice. Can't perform, must stop, lie down and drink Acamol.

והאיש עלה, לא היתה ברירה הירח הרי חולה וכולם אמרו "לא רע, לא רע הגיע, שיעלה"

And the man went up; there was no choice — after all, the moon was sick, and everyone said, "Not bad, not bad, he came — let him go up."

And so they lived, the man and the moon, each in his own way. The moon comes out, the man runs away, the moon sings, the man screams, the bond between the man and the moon kept growing and developing.
