און אט איז האלץ און אט עקידה און אט איז חלף אויך שוין דא אויף קרבן גרייט מיר ווארטן ביידע נאר לעמעלע איז נאך נישטא

And here is the wood, and here the Akedah, and here the knife is already here as well; for the sacrifice we both wait, ready — only the little lamb is still not here.

און אט איז זון - אה ברוסט צום זייגן און אט איז טאג נאך יונג און בלא און קיינער וויל פון אונדז זיך לייגן און לעמעלע איז נאך נישטא

And here is the sun — a breast to suckle, and here the day is still young and pale, and none of us wants to lie down, and the little lamb is still not here.

און קיינער וויל פון אונדז אהיימגיין און קיינער וויל נישט בלייבן דא און קיינער קען פון אונדז נישט גרייט זיין און לעמעלע איז נאך נישטא

And none of us wants to go home, and none wants to stay here, and none of us can be ready, and the little lamb is still not here.

און אט איז שטריק און קיש אויף ביינער און אט איז זאק אויף טלא און קלא און אט איז פייער שוין געלעגט אויף שטיינער און לעמעלע איז נאך נישטא

And here is a rope and a knot on the bones, and here is a gag on throat and voice, and here the fire is already laid on stones, and the little lamb is still not here.

און אט איז באלד שוין טאג פארגאנגען און אט איז נאכט א שווארצע קרא און מיר מיר זענען אויך פארגאנגען און לעמעלע איז אלץ נישטא

And soon the day is already gone, and here is night, a black crow, and we, we are gone as well, and the little lamb is still not here.
