הָאִישׁ תַּחַת תְּאֵנָתוֹ טִלְפֵּן לָאִישׁ תַּחַת גַּפְנוֹ: "הַלַּיְלָה הֵם בְּהֶחְלֵט עֲלוּלִים לָבוֹא שַׁרְיֵן אֶת הֶעָלִים, סְגֹר הֵיטֵב אֶת הָאִילָן קְרָא לַמֵּתִים הַבַּיְתָה, וֶהֱיֵה מוּכָן"

The man beneath his fig tree phoned the man beneath his vine: "Tonight they are definitely liable to come; armor the leaves, seal the tree well, call the dead home, and be ready."

הַכֶּבֶשׂ הַלָּבָן אָמַר לַזְּאֵב: "בְּנֵי אָדָם פּוֹעִים וְלִבִּי כּוֹאֵב: הֵם יַגִּיעוּ שָׁם לִיְדֵי קְרָבוֹת כִּידוֹן בַּפִּגִישָׁה הַבָּאָה בֵּינֵינוּ, הָעִנְיָן יִדּוֹן" כָּל הַגּוֹיִים (הַמְּאֻחָדִים) יִנְהֲרוּ לִיְרוּשָׁלַיִם לִרְאוֹת אִם יָצְאָה תּוֹרָה, וּבֵינְתַיִם

The white lamb said to the wolf: "Human beings bleat, and my heart aches: they will arrive there for battles of the spear; at our next meeting between us, the matter will be decided." All the nations (united) will stream to Jerusalem to see whether the law has gone forth, and meanwhile

הֱיוֹת וְעַכְשָׁיו אָבִיב יִלְקְטוּ פְּרָחִים מִסָּבִיב

Since now it is spring, let them gather flowers all around.

וְכִתְּתוּ חֶרֶב לְמַזְמֵרָה וּמַזְמֵרָה לְחֶרֶב וְחוֹזֵר חֲלִילָה וְשׁוּב בְּלִי הֶרֶף

And they shall beat a sword into a pruning-knife and a pruning-knife into a sword, and, alas, back again and again without respite.

אוּלַי מִכִּתּוּתִים וְהַשְׁחָזוֹת הַרְבֵּה בַּרְזֶל הָרִיב בָּעוֹלָם יִכְלֶה

Perhaps from many beatings and sharpenings, the iron of strife in the world will be spent.
