שבכל הלילות אי שקט התרוצץ בי
התחמץ בי ליבי ולא מצא
ולא מצא את כל מה שביקש
גם אם מצה היא או חמץ
ליבי ביקש להתכווץ כך הלילות חלפו לי
אך הלילה הזה שוב ליבי לא מתחמץ בי
הוא אינו מתכווץ כי הוא מצא
כי הוא מצא את כל מה שביקש
ומשמחה הוא מתפוצץ
הברית הזו לא ננפץ, הלילה זה קרה לי
That on all the nights, restlessness raced within me,
my heart soured within me and did not find,
did not find all that it sought.
Whether it be matzah or leaven,
my heart wished to shrink — thus the nights passed for me.
But on this night my heart no longer sours within me;
it does not contract, for it has found,
for it has found all that it sought,
and from joy it bursts.
This covenant we will not shatter — tonight this happened to me.

That on all the nights I often tasted of fruits,
and other greens and maror I ate as well;
among the recliners I was like a mourner,
and in their laughter I did not immerse;
I was always as one who suffers —
thus the nights passed for me.
But on this night I will keep your fruits in my heart;
this is the tastiest fruit of every fruit,
and only with you will I sit among the recliners,
and my heart will no longer sour,
for it has found what it sought — tonight this happened to me.
