[בית ראשון] בארבע לפנות בוקר, באופן די מדהים היה אליי לפתע דבר האלוהים אמר לי, "בן אדם, תקשיב אליי טוב "אתה קונה גיטרה ויוצא אל הרחוב

[First Verse] At four in the morning, quite amazingly, suddenly the word of God came to me. He said to me, "Man, listen to me carefully, You buy a guitar and go out to the street."

?אמרתי, "אלוהים? סליחה, אתה אליי "יש רב שגר כאן לא רחוק, גם אלוהים אולי אמר לי, "בן אדם, של נעליך פן תמות "אם באתי עד אליך אז אין פה שום טעות

I said, "God? Excuse me, are you talking to me? There's a rabbi who lives not far from here—maybe God too." He said to me, "Man, take off your shoes lest you die. If I came all the way to you, then there's no mistake here."

אמר לי, "בן אדם, איך שאתה רוצה תפסת ראש איתי, נראה איך שתצא היו כבר חכמים שניסו איתי לצחוק "לאן שלא תברח אז לא תגיע רחוק

He said to me, "Man, as you wish. You tried to get smart with me—let's see how you turn out. There have already been sages who tried to laugh with me. Wherever you run, you won't get far."

[בית שלישי] ברק הבריק בזעם ורעם בא בעוז והכול חשך סביב והמראה כולו נגוז על מזרוני צנחתי, בלב מלא אימה זה רק חלום", חשבתי, ונפלה עליי תרדמה"

[Third Verse] Lightning flashed in fury, and thunder came with might; everything darkened around, and the vision vanished. I collapsed onto my mattress, my heart full of dread. "It's only a dream," I thought, and sleep fell upon me.

בבוקר בחלון, הופיע השליח הייתי די מופתע שאותי זה לא מפתיע היי, בואו בני אדם, בשבילכם אני שר !ככה זה התחיל - המסע אל האוצר

In the morning at the window, the messenger appeared. I was quite surprised that it didn't surprise me. Hey, come, people—I'm singing for you. That's how it began—the journey to the treasure.

[Fourth Verse] Some kind of god chased me, sullen, faceless. They climb up to him on ladders; they see him in the clouds. I'm coming, Mom; it's not so far. I'm coming, Mom—already beyond the Jabbok.

היו לי נעליים והן אבדו בדרך אני ימים רבים, עבדתי בפרך בלילה, לשולחן ומסביבי מראות צירפתי תו לתו, חיברתי אות לאות

I had shoes, and they were lost along the way. For many days I labored to exhaustion. At night, at the table, with visions around me, I joined note to note, I linked letter to letter.
